Our day begins in the middle of the night – just like it did for my Father and my Grandfather before him. As a kid, I’d wake in the dark to hear his shoes on the sidewalk and even half-asleep, I’d know he was on his daily mission to find the best, freshest fruits and vegetables he could get his hands on – so families, chefs, restaurants, delis, universities, and stores could serve and eat the healthiest, most delicious food possible.From my Father, we picked up the business – and the things you only learn by doing, listening, touching, and tasting. By his side, we built relationships with the local farmers and purveyors who transformed freshly turned earth into the delicious fruits and vegetables that keep our customers – and us – happy, healthy, and hungry for more.

We learned how and when things grow. What tomatoes, eggplant, and cherries look like when they’re ripe and ready to be harvested. And how the burst of sweetness from a freshly picked blackberry tastes just like summer.

Most importantly, we learned that our customers are neighbors, friends, locals, tourists, mom and pop shops, school kids, grandmas – people we’d do anything for – whether it’s to make a last minute delivery, hand cut produce for 35,000 fruit cups, cater a family celebration, or help them find a perfectly ripe avocado.

For us, feeding people has always been about more than connecting them to fresh, nourishing fruits and vegetables. More than the trust they place in us every time they serve their customers, or sit down to eat.
